Feature

A curve, not a lifetime total.

YouTube reports what a video has done in total. That number cannot tell a video that died in two days apart from one still climbing, because both eventually show the same total.
Sampling

Each tracked video, twice a day

History

Free 7 days, Starter 60 days, Creator everything recorded, Network everything recorded

Split

Shorts against long cuts

Why snapshots and not a total

A lifetime total is a single number with the shape removed. Two videos on twelve thousand views can be completely different events: one took nine days and is still going, the other took two and stopped. Only the second derivative tells you which format to make more of, and you cannot get it from a number that only goes up.

Runsheet records views, likes and comments twice a day for each video it tracks: the most recent 50 on Free and Starter, every video on Creator and Network. After a fortnight you have curves. After a month the curves start disagreeing with each other in useful ways.

The split that matters

Shorts and long cuts have different physics, different audiences and different half-lives. Averaged together they produce a number that describes neither. Every figure in Runsheet that can be split by format is split by format.

It refuses when it should

Every finding declares the sample it needs. If you have five published videos and the publishing window needs 8, the box says “Not enough data yet. This needs 8 published videos and you have 5.” and then appears on its own once you cross the line. That is the whole reason to trust the findings that do appear. The methodology page publishes the thresholds.

What this feature will not do, stated where you can read it before paying.

  • History starts the day you connect. Runsheet cannot reconstruct the past, and does not draw a flat line pretending to.
  • Views, likes and comments only. Watch time and retention are not available through the API tier this product uses.
  • A finding that needs more videos than you have says so instead of appearing.
